Real Alaskan Weddings

Lisa & Liam | Married!

When most people envision Alaska, they often picture snowy landscape, icy glaciers, pristine lakes, and vast forest. But guess what, Alaska boasts stunning beaches as well! So, if you’ve ever dreamed of exchanging your vows by the water, I can turn that dream into reality. Let’s take a glimpse into some of my favorite moments from Lisa and Liam’s beach side wedding held at Miller’s Landing in Seward, Alaska last June.

THE CEREMONY ARCH

It was love at first sight when I first laid eyes on this ceremony arch. Crafted by one of the bride’s brothers, it was made of driftwood and secured with sturdy rope. Then, Jodi from Wild Blossom Design worked her magic and elevated it to a whole new level by adding bright flowers and greenery. Without a doubt, this ranks among my all-time favorites during my many years as a wedding planner!

THE MEN’S WEDDING ATTIRE

Typically, I’d be discussing the bride and bridesmaid outfits, and don’t get me wrong, they were stunning. However, this time, I want to give a special mention to the men! Their style was incredibly diverse, and extra kudos to Liam and his hairstyle. He absolutely owned that mullet – total admiration!

THE RECEPTION FOOD

I vividly recall Lisa emphasizing during our consultation that good food was very important to her. She expressed her desire for Liam and her to kick off dinner immediately upon entering the tent. Now, I understand why! Instead of the typical choices like chicken, beef, or fish for the main course, they opted for a taco bar catered by El Green-Go’s. It was ahhhhmazing, and the presentation added a vibrant and festive touch that seamlessly complemented the tropical and beachy vibes!

THE TABLE DECOR

The table decor had a combination of “Tropical” and “beachy” vibes. Tie-dye linens, bamboo plates, sage linen napkins, vibrant flower arrangements in both small and large vases, and test tube vases surrounded by greenery all contributed to the theme. Adding a personal touch, each table featured a small piece of art on an easel, hand-painted by the groom’s mother. She also created artwork for all the vendors as a thoughtful thank-you gesture. On a side note, if you choose tie-dye linens for your reception, the beauty of it is that no ironing is needed! πŸ™‚

THE BRIDE’S FOOTWEAR

And last but not least, I cannot not mention this…move over Xtratufs, and say “hello” to the bedazzled Birkenstock! Yep, Lisa rocked a pair of bedazzled Birkenstocks on her wedding day!
