For the Love of Books – A Library Styled Shoot!

So, if you read my diary entry about my last styled shoot that took place in the Fall, you know that I made damn sure this time around I wasn’t going to make the same mistake and get the date wrong! LOL!

This romantic shoot took place in January at the ZJ Loussac Library in Midtown. Orainda (Orainda’s Bridal Boutique), Sharon (Elegante Light Photography), and I started talking about collaborating back in October. We were trying to find the right spot to showcase a new venue that also allowed us to capture that vibe of romance and simplicity. No loud or bright colors, or anything boho or rustic. We wanted to keep it simple and sweet. So, when the opportunity came up to check out the newly renovated event space at the library, we were on it and began planning!

With a little help from our friends, Paper Peony, Ardy’s Cakes & Confections, Stallone’s Menswear, The Beauty Room, and Over the Top Tents we were able to create some magic that day! We showcased a beautiful ceremony scene of lighted pillar candles in front of the fireplace, along with an intimate sweetheart’s table surrounded by candles in the Ann Stevens room. Natasha (Paper Peony) designed a centerpiece that we were able to utilize on the fireplace mantle, as well as with the sweetheart’s table. Over the Top Tents provided their mahogany Chiavari chairs to complete the look. We then moved the sweetheart’s table into the Loussac Event Center, to give it a different feel with the open space and large windows that looked out onto the snowy park. And of course, the shoot wasn’t complete without a wedding cake. Ardy (Ardy’s Cakes and Confections) was able to create a small, two-tiered cake with flowers piped in on the side with gold accents. She even included some of her special desserts. Our models Shyler and Gillian (who also happened to be a ballet dancer) was the icing on the cake (haha, get it)!
