Ahhhhhhhh, the wedding song list! Out of all the tasks in preparing for a wedding, I find that this is the one couples have the most trouble with (insert the “I don’t know” emoji here)! Either there are just so many choices and they can’t make a decision, or for others, they are just not into music (which I find to be a crying shame, lol)! So, if you are one or the other, don’t worry Boo Boo, I got you! I’ve reached out to some of my DJ friends to compile a list of their 5 all-time top/most popular songs for each category to help you out, and I even included links so you can hear the songs! You’re welcome!
Let’s start this party off by seeing what Eric Robson from Alaska Professional Entertainment says are his picks for the top songs for First Dances and Mother/Son Dances!
First Dance Songs
- Dan + Shay – From The Ground Up

Grand Entrance Songs
- LMFAO – Party Rock Anthem (Everyone knows this song, it’s fun and upbeat. )
- Beyonce – Love on Top (Such a good song for the couple.)
- Bruno Mars – 24K Magic (Most couples want a song that is upbeat and gets their guests involved. This one always works and is a favorite of mine. )
- Chris Brown – Forever (Ever since this YouTube video of JK Wedding Entrance Dance came out, it’s been a perfect song for the moment. Many couples have asked for this song. )
- Jagged Edge – Let’s Get Married (ReMarqable remix) (This song is so upbeat with a ton of memories. An ALL-TIME CLASSIC!!)
- Honorable Mention – Queen – Another One Bites the Dust
Ceremony Processional Songs
- Christina Perry – A Thousand Years (there is a cello version of this song that works perfectly) **side note, I personally love the Piano Guys version
- Meghan Trainor – My Future Husband (I had a bride request this song for her walk down the aisle. It was sweet and everyone loved it.)
- 2 CELLOS – With or Without You (Couples seem to love cello versions of songs to walk down to. We are looking to keep it classy and this one works perfectly for the moment.) **Side note, this might be my favorite new go-to song!
- Israel “IZ” Kamakawiwo’ole – Somewhere over the Rainbow (It has a great melody, it’s recognizable and everyone knows the song!)
- Bruno Mars – Marry You (For the fun-loving couples, this song always gets people happy. Weddings are supposed to bring out the personalities of the couple and be fun. )
- Honorable Mention – Pachelbel – Canon in D Major (The good old fashion wedding song. Can’t ever go wrong with this. ) **Side note, agreed!
